D.C. action: ‘End occupation of Palestine’
Militant/ Ben Joyce
WASHINGTON, June 10—About 1,500 people marched and rallied here today to demand an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine. It was part of a global Day of Action, dubbed “The World Says No to Israeli Occupation,” to mark the 40th anniversary of Tel Aviv’s annexation of East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. Protesters called for an end to U.S. military, economic, and political support for Tel Aviv’s control of the occupied territories. The action was organized by the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and United for Peace and Justice. Similar mobilizations were planned in 22 other countries around the world.
