SAN FRANCISCO—Hundreds of participants at the November 16-19 African Studies Association (ASA) meeting here visited the Pathfinder Press booth. “The New Scramble for Africa,” “HIV Education and Prevention in Africa,” “Perspectives on Agriculture in African Economies,” and “African Women’s Leadership” were a few of the more than 200 panel discussions and roundtables that took place.

Titles on the Cuban Revolution were popular, especially Our History Is Still Being Written: The Story of Three Chinese-Cuban Generals in the Cuban Revolution. ASA members also bought 43 copies of Pathfinder books and pamphlets by Thomas Sankara, including nine in French. A range of other titles were sold, from The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels to Malcolm X Talks to Young People to issues of New International, a magazine of Marxist politics and theory.

Our History Is Still Being Written is available for $20 at www.pathfinderpress.com.
